Nomination for National Deputy President 2012

Engineers Australia is calling for nominations for the position of its National Deputy President for 2012.

Please read the Submission Guidelines below before submitting a nomination

Eligibility Criteria

The Bye-Laws make the following provisions for the election of the National Deputy President:

32.4.2 When the office of the National Deputy President becomes vacant, the National Congress shall elect by secret ballot a person to serve as the National Deputy President.

32.4.3 The National Deputy President shall be an Honorary Fellow or Fellow who has served at least one term as a delegate to the National Congress.

Nominations are sought for the position of National Deputy President (NDP) for 2012.

Nomination Procedure

The call for nominations for the position of National Deputy President for 2012 opens at 9.00am (AEST) on Monday 12 September 2011 and has now been extended to close at 5.00pm (AEDST) on Monday 24 October 2011.

Eligible candidates may obtain a nomination form and a copy of the nomination and submission procedures by contacting the Executive Officer to Council on 02 6270 6509, by e-mailing the Executive Services Team at executivesupport@engineersaustralia.org.au or by downloading the forms:

The completed nomination and candidate consent form and supporting documentation should e-mailed to executivesupport@engineersaustralia.org.au.

Proposer and Seconder

Proposers and seconders must be a current National Congress delegate whose term extends to the next 12 months.

Presentation to National Congress Delegates

At the National Congress meeting being held on 23- 24 November 2011 candidates are expected to give a 5-minute presentation to National Congress delegates on their claim to the position.

Voting

Voting for the National Deputy President will take place during the meeting of National Congress, prior to the Annual General Meeting on 24 November 2011.  Voting will be by secret ballot using a preferential voting system.
