About the Week
Australian Engineering Week (AEW) is a public awareness and education campaign that aims to highlight the role and achievements of the engineering profession in Australia, and to promote engineering as the career of choice.
Every year Engineers Australia hosts a huge variety of events that promote and showcase engineering in Australia, and the achievements of local engineering organisations and their teams. The events held during the week are aimed at everyone from school and tertiary students, teachers and parents, to qualified engineers. Engineers Australia hosts over 100 events during the week across Australia, and actively supports many other events run by educational institutions and engineering organisations that are eager to run their own events during the Week.
In 2008 over 5,000 people attended Australian Engineering Week events which included; site tours, schools activities, careers expos, careers adviser workshops, Girltalk workshops, the Young Professional Engineer of the Year Roadshow, and more.
