Australasian Particle Technology Society (APTS) 2nd Student Conference, Phillip Island, 25-27 September 2015
Following the success of the 1st Student Conference at the Sunshine Coast in 2013, APTS is hosting its 2nd Student Conference at the magnificent Phillip Island!
Call for abstract submissions
The APTS conference committee is inviting submissions for the 2nd APTS student conference. Research students from Australia and overseas are invited to present their works, initiate discussion, and build future collaboration in the beautiful surrounding of Phillip Island.
Extended abstracts for works related to any aspects of particle technology, food and pharmaceuticals, minerals engineering, modelling and simulation, catalysis, nanotechnology, energy, and bio-processing are welcome.
Guidelines for Extended Abstracts
The template for extended abstract is available here. Extended abstracts should include the title of the proposed submission, each author’s name with the name of the presenting author underlined and contact details provided. Abbreviations may be used only after first defining the term.
The abstract should be presented in Microsoft Word format in no more than 2 pages in length and should include the include the following information:
- Background information and research aim.
- Description of study undertaken.
- Conclusion / recommendations.
- Relevant tables, figures, literature references, and acknowledgements.
The APTS Conference Committee will review all abstracts and conduct selections based on content, objectives, and relevance to the conference themes.
Abstracts submission will be open from early 2015, with the deadline on 31st of August 2015.
Abstracts accepted for presentation will be allocated a 20-minutes timeslot, including 5 minutes for discussion.

Fees (subject to change)
Full conference registration (including dorm-style* accommodation and meals at CYC The Island, and transfer to Melbourne**)
- $225 for APTS members
- $300 for non-members
*Dorm rooms sleep between 4 guests with ensuite in each room. Linen and towels are provided. More information at http://theisland.cyc.org.au/general-information/.
The Island conference centre is situated on 2.5 hectares of landscaped gardens in the heart of Cowes, within strolling distance of safe sandy beaches, the picturesque coastal township and a short drive to Phillip Island’s world-renowned tourist attractions.
**Bus will pick up participants from CYC The Island at Phillip Island to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 27 September 2015 for APPChE/Chemeca 2015.

APTS is a technical society of Engineers Australia, membership of the Society is administrated through Engineers Australia but you do not need to be a member of Engineers Australia to join APTS.

- Student: $11.00
- Retired: $11.00
