We are busy copying files so stay tuned, its about to launch!
LET'S GET READY!
EngQuest 2008 is due to be an exciting year with over 500 expressions of interest from primary school teachers across the nation. The topics have now been announced and are listed below. There are a number of tasks to choose from within each topic, with three learning levels; lower primary, middle primary and upper primary.
The student blog, the forum and other exciting web aspects, including the student interactive section, teachers packs and photo gallery, are just going through final touch-up stages and everything will be made live today. This is when teachers can officially register and receive their own log-in details for the new site. In the meantime, please register your interest in becoming involved in the program for 2008.
However leading up to the website launch, we have arranged for you to have a special sneak-peek at what's to come!
The Topics!
Topic 1 - ‘What Are Simple Machines?' Students will be asked to make simple machine devices and will be provided with student information sheets about simple machines and the ways in which they operate. This topic is introduced by a Simple Machines animation to which students have access from the home page.
Topic 2, ‘Which Engineering Teams Work in my Community?' Encourages students to look at some of the engineering feats that are unique to your community.
Topic 3, ‘Build it! Construct it! But How?' Encourages students to investigate everything from the construction of their own home to unique buildings from around the world. This topic even touches on the Beijing Olympic Games.
