Awards
Engineers Australia plays an important role in promoting engineering excellence and the contribution engineering makes to the community. Our award programs seek to identify, recognise and reward outstanding achievement, eminence in the practice of engineering, and conspicuous service to the profession.
Entries for all three Civil College awards - the Rod McGee Medal , the Sir John Holland Civil Engineer of the Year Award and the WH Warren Medal will open in June and close in August each year.

About this Award
To recognise the contribution of Rod McGee to Australian public works engineering and durability, the Board of the College of Civil Engineers, Engineers Australia created the Rod McGee Medal.
The award is sponsored by the Tasmanian Department of Infrastructure Energy& Resources (Dr. McGee's former employer).
The Medal recognises and encourages engineering students to engage in career opportunities in public works engineering. One award will be offered each year to undergraduate students in their final year Civil Engineering. The winner of the Rod McGee medal will receive an engraved medallion, $2000 and a certificate conferred by Engineers Australia.

About this Award
Civil Engineers make a major contribution to our quality of life through the integral role they play in the provision of services and facilities for the general benefit of the community. They are also responsible for much of the infrastructure that impacts on our daily lives and play an important role in bringing about a more sustainable future for Australia.
The Sir John Holland Award for Civil Engineer of the Year provides a high profile focus on engineering achievement and serves as both a showcase for civil engineering and a focus for young people interested in pursuing a career in engineering.

2011 Winner
The presentation of the Sir John Holland Civil Engineer of the Year Award took place on Thursday 27 October 2011 in Sydney NSW. The award was
presented by Mr Dennis Brewer Executive General Manager, Strategic Projects Director of John Holland Group and Mr Matthew O'Hearn Chairman Civil
College Board. The winner was Mr Andrew Leventhal.

About this Award
The Warren Medal perpetuates the memory of Professor WH Warren who was the first President of the Institution of Engineers Australia. Established in 1929, this award is given annually by the Civil College of Engineers Australia for the best paper in the discipline of civil engineering. It is open to all members of Engineers Australia or as specially noted in the following Awards Criteria.
2011 Winner
The presentation of the WH Warren Medal took place on Thursday 27 October 2011 in Sydney NSW. The award was presented by Dr Rebecce Gravina, Deputy Chair, Civil College Board. The winner was Scott Smith & Paul Kim as the co-authors of the paper, "Deflection calculation of FRP-strengthened reinforced concrete flexural members".
