The National Committee on Coastal and Ocean Engineering (NCCOE) is a specialist sub-committee of the Civil College within Engineers Australia. It represents the professional interests of Australian coastal and ocean engineers.

Committee Policy
Following a period of consultation that included a workshop at Coasts and Ports 2001, the NCCOE established the following priorities:
- Improve management of the coastal zone through understanding of the coastal environment.
- Develop strategies for hazards and risk in the coastal zone.
- Establish a national coastal and near-ocean data program integrating advanced technologies such as satellite, airborne and shore-based remote sensing.
These priorities have been incorporated in Engineers Australia's submission to the Government's National Research Priorities Taskforce.
The Committee will continue to work on these research priority guidelines and your comments are always welcome.
Committee Meetings
The Committee usually meets in March and September, and occasionally extends meetings or workshops to allow for external participation. The Committee also meets when the biennial Australasian Coastal and Ocean Engineering Conference is being held.
