Research Priorities for Coastal and Ocean Engineering in Australia
Following a period of consultation including a workshop held at Coasts and Ports 2001, the National Committee for Coastal and Ocean Engineering has established the following priority goals:
Improved management of the coastal zone through understanding of the coastal environment.
Developing strategies for hazards and risk in the coastal zone.
Establishment of a national coastal and near-ocean data program integrating advanced technologies such as satellite, airborne and shore-based remote sensing.
