Engineers Australia plays an important role in promoting engineering excellence and the contribution engineering makes to the community. Our award programs seek to identify, recognise and reward outstanding achievement, eminence in the practice of engineering, and conspicuous service to the profession.

About this Award
These awards apply to practicing engineers under the age of 35 years.
They seek to acknowledge and reward young professional engineers, young engineering technologists and young engineering officers who have:
- A demonstrated understanding of the role and purpose of the engineering profession to society
- Proficiency in the use of communication skills in engineering projects
- Effective communication with the public media
- Realised competence and significant achievement in community affairs.
2010 Winner - Simon Osenieks
Engineers Australia, Canberra Division recently announced Canberra's Young Professional Simon has recently concluded his term as President of the ACT Chapter of EWB. During his time as President, Simon was also the project manager for a water supply project in East Timor. The project involved supply of water and sanitation to 2000 students and as project manager, Simon was responsible for the management of a wide range of volunteers, overseas contractors and donor representatives. He overcame language and distance barriers to develop a memorandum of understanding in the local language and create appropriate contract documents for local Simon graduated from the Australian National University in 2001 with majors in Sustainable Energy and Electronics. He is currently managing a water distribution system project for a village outside Dili in East Timor. |

The Games will be held on Friday, 6 August 2010
The Engineering Games are organised by Engineers Australia, Canberra Division with assistance from Questacon as part of the Australian Engineering Week.
The Games will be held at the National Science & Technology Centre (Questacon) on Friday 6 August 2010 commencing at 5.30pm registration and games begin.

Engineering House Canberra
The Canberra Engineering Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to mark the 75th Anniversary of Canberra Division.
The intent of the Hall of Fame is to recognise the accomplishments of engineers in Canberra who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and have made a significant contribution to the local community. It also provides a perpetual means of demonstrating to the community of Canberra the contribution that engineering makes to the success of our city.
Details of the Hall of Fame members and their achievements are featured in a permanent display in Engineering House.
Nominations for induction into the Hall of Fame are normally called every two years.
