Australian Engineering Week, August

Australian Engineering Week is a public awareness and education campaign that aims to highlight the role and achievements of the engineering profession in Australia, and to promote engineering as the career of choice.

The week is held nationally each year in August. In 2009 the week was held from 3 to 9 August.

Engineers Link to Education

The current shortage of engineers is well publicised and felt throughout the engineering profession. Engineers Australia is currently running and supporting several programs in primary and secondary schools across Australia to assist in promoting and replenishing the Engineering profession for the future of our country; Engineers Link to Education is one such program. Studying Engineering

The requirement for a Professional Engineer is a four year Bachelor of Engineering course available at most major universities in Australia. The Bachelor of Engineering Technology (three years) is available at a selection of Australian universities and courses to become an Engineering Associate can be studied at TAFE.
