Discover Engineering
Discover Engineering, the Engineers in Schools Program has been established by Engineers Australia, Victorian Division to provide students with the opportunity to learn more about engineering and what it involves.
The program links aspiring engineers or engineering professionals with the next generation, providing them with the platform to promote their profession and motivate students to consider a career in engineering.
Discover Engineering targets groups who are not necessarily exposed to information regarding the engineering profession through other facets of everyday life.
This initiative aims to:
- Boost awareness of the benefits of being an engineer;
- Endeavour to increase enrollment in engineering;
- Encourage sharing of knowledge and engineering experience.
Students may be uninformed about the study of engineering and unprepared for the rigor and discipline it entails. This speaking program will help to combat this lack of awareness by mobilising industry professionals to promote high-school level, pre-engineering education.
Members of Engineers Australia register to volunteer their time and knowledge to visit secondary schools upon request. A speaker is selected according to the schools' specific requirements to deliver a targeted presentation on engineering.

EngQuest
Now in its seventh successful year, EngQuest provides an exciting way for students to participate in free, fun, educational engineering activities involving mathematics, science and technology. EngQuest is non-competitive, with every student recognised for their participation and hard work with a certificate and a gift.
Curriculum-appropriate classroom engineering tasks have been provided on this website, along with easy to use task background information, lesson and activity ideas and student activity sheets. There is also plenty of interactive educational fun that your students are certain to enjoy!
