Science & Engineering Challenge

The Science & Engineering Challenge is a competition for year 9 high school students which aims to present engineering in an inspirational manner, excite the imagination of prospective students and provoke their interest through a variety of well designed tasks. Activities range from problem solving scenarios to designing and building projects. The program has received enormous encouragement from teachers with many indicating that the Challenge has been vital in engaging and inspiring students towards continuing their studies in Science.

Kwinana/Rockingham - Tue 3 Nov
Venue: Mike Barnett Stadium,  Rockingham

Bunbury - Thu 5 Nov, Fri 6 Nov
Venue: Leschenault Leisure Centre - Australind

Perth -  Mon 9 Nov - Fri 13 Nov
Venue: Perth convention and Exhibition Centre

WA State Championship -  Tue 17 Nov
Venue: Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre

Award for Excellence in Teaching

The Engineers Australia WA Division Award for Excellence in Teaching recognises and celebrates an individual secondary school teacher who has demonstrated excellence in applying the principles of engineering in the class room, enhancing the learning experiences of their students and increasing the community awareness of the value of engineering to society.
