AUSTRALIAN COST ENGINEERING SOCIETY- A Technical Society of Engineers Australia

in association with AACE International – Australian Section presents:

Forensic  Schedule  Analysis Techniques: Unveiling the Mystery Using the AACEi Recommended Practice 29R-03

Speaker: Dr. Anamaria Popescu, PE, PSP,PMP- Associate Director, McLachlan Lister Pty Ltd

Forensic schedule analysis is a fascinating subculture of construction claims in which a myriad of different delay analysis techniques can be applied. Each schedule analysis technique has its purpose based on the numerous variables that comprise a construction claim.

This presentation will give participants an understanding of what Forensic Scheduling is, the history of the Forensic Schedule Analysis Recommended Practice (RP 29R-03), a taxonomy of the different delay analysis methodologies, and a brief explanation of some of the key techniques applied by the claims industry using the Forensic Schedule Analysis RP 29R-03 as a guide.

The structure of the RP itself will be discussed as well as the classification system of the analysis techniques. When possible, a graphical representation of the methods will be given. In addition, the presentation will focus on factors to consider when selecting a method. This lecture is not intended to promote one method over the other, merely to give the user an understanding of the blend of art and science that is schedule analysis.
