 AS/NZS 1163:2009 Presentation

The Australian Steel Institute (ASI) in conjunction with its manufacturing members is embarking on a series of seminars concerning product compliance as a service to engineers and other project delivery participants.

AS/NZS 1163:2009 has been modified to improve product identification, certification and traceability, responding to recent industry concerns.

Designers and specifiers need to be aware of these changes to ensure that inferior or non-specified product is not substituted for critical applications resulting in product qualities not compliant with AS/NZS 1163 expectations.

Products compliant with AS/NZS 1163 are referenced via AS 4100 in the Building Code of Australia (BCA) as well as other regulations and contract documents.

These issues are not isolated to Pipe and Tube and are also relevant to other steel and construction materials. These seminars are vital for designers and related parties seeking to understand measures to ensure design compliance in the final construction.

Design Engineers, Procurement Managers, Project Managers, Regulatory Authorities, Fabricators, those concerned with compliance.
