About the AS/NZS 3003:2011
The revised standard AS/NZS 3003:2011 “Electrical installations – Patient areas” was released on 1st April 2011, and compliance with the new standard has been required since this date for new installations and completed work.
The 2003 edition of the standard included technical requirements for inspection and testing prior to commissioning of new patient areas. However, the new edition also includes detailed requirements for routine inspection and testing (and a normative requirement that no additional electrical installation work can be carried out unless this testing is up to date).
About this Workshop
The workshop will include presentations from key members of the Standards Australia Committee (HT-021) that developed the revised standard. It will provide guidance on practical application of the standard outlining differences to the previous 2003 version, allow for questions from the audience, and will produce a list of suggested amendments to the standard.
This workshop will ensure a uniform practice standard for all Victorian Biomedical Engineers and Technicians involved in medical area AS3003 testing.
Attendance is worth up to 5 CPD hours.
