Derailment at Bonnie Vale - Case Study of Train 6413
Short Description Mark Stallbaum, Manager Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) Adelaide Office will present a case study of the 2007 derailment of an Australian Rail Group iron ore train #6413 in Western Australia. The presentation will discuss the investigation of the derailment, including the causes and the resulting damage. As a result of the investigation, the ATSB identified a number of safety issues concerning train operations, record keeping and rail replacement practices.
