Engineers Australia Queensland Division Corporate Breakfast 'Queensland's future...are we on track'
Special guest speaker Keith De Lacy AM will explore future development in Queensland and in particular what he believes are the opportunities and challenges for our state and for the engineering team.
Keith's impressive career will provide a unique overview for members and their guests in this not to be missed presentation.
Keith De Lacy AM is one of Queensland’s best known company directors and public figures. He was Treasurer of Queensland from 1989 to 1996 and was Chairman of Macarthur Coal until it was taken over by Peabody Resources in October last year. Over the years he has served as Chairman of both Queensland Sugar (QSL) and the Global Sugar Alliance (a group of sugar exporting countries seeking fairer and freer trade in sugar on global markets), Australia’s largest irrigated agri-business the Cubbie Group, Ergon Energy, the Trinity Group, CEC and COFCO Australia.
Currently Keith is Chairman of Nimrod Resources and is a Director of Queensland Energy Resources and the Reef Casino in Cairns, and is also the President of the Queensland Division of the Australian Institiute of Company Directors (AICD).
In recognition of his services to Australia, particularly regional Queensland, he has been awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), Honorary Doctorates from both James Cook and Central Queensland Universities, the University of Queensland Gatton Gold Medal, and the Centenary Medal.
