Four 1-day professional development workshops for practitioners in Erosion and Sediment Control.

Workshop 1: Fundamentals of Erosion and Sediment Control.

Provides training for people responsible for the selection, construction and maintenance of temporary and permanent erosion and sediment control measures on construction sites. It is geared to people without a background in soils who wish to expand their knowledge of these topics from a practical perspective rather than detailed design.

Workshop 2: How to Use the "Blue Book"?

Gives a broad overview of the material contained in Managing Urban Stormwater: Soils and Construction (Landcom, 2004) (the "Blue Book").
This workshop is designed for staff who need to understand key technical and management issues relating to erosion and sediment control in the urban environment in NSW.

Workshop 3: Water Management on Construction Sites

Trains those responsible for the selection, design or review of temporary and permanent erosion and sediment control measures on urban construction sites.

The workshop is geared mainly for consultants who prepare and regulators who review Soil and Water Management Plans. An engineering background is not required. This workshop is equally applicable to both engineers and non-engineers.

Workshop 4: Preparing and Reviewing Plans for Soil and Water Management.

Trains personnel responsible for the identification and design of temporary and permanent erosion and sediment control measures on construction sites and for their delineation on a plan.

Participants will gain a sound understanding of the process involved with the selection, design and placement of a range of typical soil conservation measures suitable for use on construction sites.
