The recent changes to diesel-fuel standards, the adoption of MARPOL Annex VI and the ongoing debate over global warming have all transformed the way naval architects and diesel-engine designers are addressing exhaust-gas emissions.
Are we doing enough to minimise exhaust-gas emissions? If we are not, then what should be our timetable for change?
