The advancements in architectural software and the demands for “Iconic” building status have created aesthetically pleasing, but invariably complex structural forms. Can we as the structural designers respond positively and how are we accomplish this? This seminar will review and highlight the current challenges and the areas needing scrutiny, self development and capacity building.

Presentation Summary

A review of current challenges in the design of the new generation of high-rise buildings. The importance of conceptual understanding of the structural behaviour of these type of buildings and the challenges involved in design, documentation and construction.
