The Housing Engineering Design & Research Association (HEDRA) and the Gippsland Regional Group of Engineers Australia have joined forces to provide a half-day workshop targeted at the geotechnical industry and engineers. The workshop will consist of presentations, case studies and a round table discussion.

Speakers

Dominic Lopes, USL Group & HEDRA

Dominic has been an owner/manager of a number of companies specialising in general geotechnical and housing investigations, risk assessment of unstable slopes in Australia and New Guinea. Dominic has an Engineering Masters from Swinburne University and is a founding member of the FFS(Vic.), HEDRA, 20 year Affiliate member of the AIBS, and is a current member of the AGS. From 1992–2010 he was a committee member of the Residential Footings Code AS2870 and is a Registered Building Practitioner-Civil Engineer, Victorian Building Commission. Dominic has authored and co-authored several refereed papers on laboratory testing techniques and Thornthwaite Moisture Indices.

Jim Prior, Director - Polyvoid

Jim brings 10 years of experience in the Reinforcing Steel industry to PolyVoid. He was the NSW Regional Manager for ARC (formerly Smorgon Steel and now “One Steel”). He was instrumental in the establishment of a highly regarded service for the Residential Home Building market in his sales and marketing capacity. As National Operations Manager, Jim works closely with the licensed Polyvoid manufacturers, engineers, reinforcing suppliers and other affiliated companies and takes a leading role in introducing PolyVoid to the Residential Building Market.

Paul Trentini, Storm Plastics

Paul’s has over the last 25years experience in the Building and Plumbing industry. He has run training sessions and international trade events throughout Australia, New Zealand, China, USA, Germany Holland, Britain, Denmark, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He is a committee member of “Standards for BS29 for ‘Waterproofing” and of HEDRA. He has lectured in many TAFE colleges and today he represents “Storm Plastics” as their technical consultant.
