A high level review of a large integrated site showed where significant additional productivity could be gained through smarter management of planned shutdowns, thereby improving availability. The gains could be sufficient to move the facility from being a poor performer compared to its peers to a class leader. This would have an immediate impact on being able to produce additional product for sale and reducing operating costs. The study resulted in a list of key areas which had the potential for considerable planned shutdown savings and hence improved availability. This list enabled the limited technical and trade resources to be effectively allocated.
This presentation will discuss how this holistic approach is applicable to any processing facility, offshore, onshore, downstream, single facility or integrated site.
