In October 2011 Hardings Hotmix Pty Ltd produced the first batch of hotmix asphalt from its new plant at 30 Industrial Drive, Ulverstone, which signaled the beginning of their new Asphalt Production Division and a new era for the Civil Construction and Materials Supply company.

The plant runs on liquid natural gas and all operations are computerized.  It is capable of producing up to 80 tonnes of asphalt per hour and has a heated storage bin capacity of 50 tonnes.

The plant operates under strict environmental and energy consumption guidelines which include the recycling of waste materials through the plant.
