Mechatronic engineering is one of the yougest engineering disciplines. It brings together mechanical, electrical, electronic and computer engineering: the essential part of the discipline is the integration of machines and systems involving these elements. The National Panel on Mechatronics (NPMecha) met for the first time in December 2006.
