The Hong Kong Chapter was established in in early 2002 with the objective of providing a common platform for members of Engineers Australia in Hong Kong to share experiences and knowledge through the participation of different activities such as seminars, technical talks, social functions and technical visits. To date, the Chapter has organised no less than 80 activities which were all well attended. There are currently about 1,700 members in Hong Kong.

Visiting Engineers Australia members are welcome to contact the Chapter and attend the ongoing activities. The Chapter is managed by a dedicated volunteer Executive Committee, elected from the membership annually

Malaysia

The Malaysian Chapter was launched at the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur on 23 May 1991 with the objective of facilitating contacts among all grades of Engineers Australia members residing in Malaysia and the National Office.

The Chapter enjoys a very close and co-operative relationship with the host country engineering organisation, the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and a majority of our Malaysian members are also members of IEM. The two bodies organise joint activities from time to time.

The Chapter is administered by a group of volunteer members who meet regularly to organise a wide range of activities. The Chapter is in the process of setting up a website and a link will be provided in the near future.

Singapore

The Singapore Chapter was formed in 1993, principally to facilitate contacts amongst all grades of members residing in Singapore through regular networking activities. It is run entirely by a volunteer executive committee comprising members of the Institution. It has, on the average, about 600 financial members residing in Singapore. Since its formation, the Group has been very active in organising regular activities for its members such as technical talks, seminars, workshops and site visits as well as social gathering and functions. In addition, the Group also offers support to members seeking to achieve chartered status.

The Singapore Group is also a member of the National Committee of Engineering Organisations, which was set up under the auspices of the Institution of Engineers Singapore. The Group continues to maintain close liaison and co-operation with other local engineering professional bodies on matters of mutual interest.

United Kingdom

The UK Chapter aims to provide support, advice and a social network so that members of Engineers Australia can make the most of their engineering experience in the United Kingdom. The Chapter holds a number of technical and social events throughout the year which are becoming increasingly popular and well attended. Along with tours and getting chartered seminars, the highlight of the years calendar is the annual Xmas soiree held in conjunction with the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand at the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions in London.

The Chapter is run by a committee of dedicated volunteers and is always happy for new people to join. It is great way to make new contacts and improve your organisational and management skills!

USA

Engineers Australia has over 300 members resident in the USA. Although there have been attempts to set up a chapter/interest group in the past, our efforts have been unsuccessful for various reasons.

In July 2006, through the commitment and hard work of a core group of members based in San Diego, an interest group was set up in the USA.

The core group of the Interest Group meets face to face in San Diego, but interaction with members in other parts of the USA is usually done through emails. While the Interest Group is not a formal chapter of Engineers Australia, the Group would welcome your contact and participation if you travel to the USA.
