Frequently Asked Questions about Membership Renewals

Common questions about the renewals process. If your question isn't answered here, please contact Member Services.

Payments and Invoicing

How do I make a payment for my membership subscription renewal?

For your convenience, Engineers Australia offers several different payment methods. Cheques and credit card details may be sent directly to our National Office. Alternatively, members can now take advantage of our Telstra Bill-Pay or B-Pay facilities. Please see the reverse side of your 2008-09 Subscription Renewal Notice for more information on these payment methods.

If you would like to pay online, login to the website via the home page and you will be automatically redirected to MyPage. Click on the 'Common Tasks' tab that is near the bottom of the page and then click on the link to 'Make a Payment'.

Why do I have an opening balance?

Members may find an opening balance on their 2008-2009 subscription renewal notice. This is generally due to unpaid 2007-2008 subscription fees that have been carried over to the new invoice period.

How do I make amendments to my invoice?

If you would like to amend your invoice in any way (e.g. add a publication or Technical Society membership), please fill out the details on the back of your invoice in the space provided and return with your payment slip.

What is the late payment fee and why am I being charged?

The late payment administration fee was introduced to cover the cost of the arrears process. Any member who does not pay their subscription by the due date (1 July 2008) will incur this fee.

Applying for Concessions

How do I apply for a concession?

If you are unemployed, studying a post-graduate course, retired or experiencing financial difficulties you may be eligible for a membership subscription concession. To apply, please download and complete a concession form.

I am a member of IPWEA and also a retired member but I have only been given the retired concession. Why?

Engineers Australia offers a range of discounts but members are only eligible for one discount off their renewal. Members are offered the discount which gives them the greatest benefit. (Please note members receiving a concession rate for their subscription fee may still be eligible for a Technical Society discount).

Upgrading Your Membership

How do I upgrade my membership?

A formal application must be submitted by anyone wishing to upgrade his or her membership. Learn more about upgrading membership.

I have completed my studies. Why am I still recorded as a Student?

Student Members who wish to upgrade to Graduate must submit a formal application. This is not an automatic process because Engineers Australia must confirm that you have completed an accredited undergraduate course.
