Apply for Affiliate or Companion Membership
If you have an active interest in contributing to the engineering profession or wish to strengthen your networks through one of Engineers Australia's learned groups then Affiliate or Companion membership may be for you.
Application is easy. Simply:

Download and complete an Application Form - Affiliate or Companion

Attach a certified copy of your degree/award testamur (what is a certified copy?)

Attach a verified curriculum vitae (what is a verified curriculum vitae?)
- Attach a certified copy of your photo ID (passport bio-data page or Australian driver's licence) (why is a photo ID required?)
Completing the application form
When completing your application form you will be asked to nominate whether you are applying for Affiliate or Companion membership. The categories are:
- Affiliate (AffilIEAust) – Not eligible for membership in an occupational category, but hold a three-year degree or diploma (or higher qualification) and has an active interest in a branch of engineering or in a field of specialisation which may contribute to the activities of Engineers Australia.

Companion (CompIEAust) – Not eligible for membership as a Member or Fellow in an occupational category but has reached a level of attainment in a field related to engineering, or having interest in common with engineering, that may be deemed equivalent to the level of attainment in engineering required for election as Fellow.
