Applying

This area of the Board's web site is designed for engineering professionals and others who have a need for registration.

It has been proposed that the registration system should be broadened to embrace science and technology as well as engineering and readers are referred to in the discussion paper Towards a Unified Registration System . Developments in this direction will be announced from time to time here and elsewhere.

Currently, there are two national registers, the National Engineering Technologists Register (NETR) and the National Professional Engineers Register (NPER). Before entering the application process it is best to select the area of practice where registration is needed and the relevant register.

This area of the web site will guide you through the application process and provide the forms you need. It will give information on where to send your application, how the assessment is made and how the outcome is notified. You do not have to join Engineers Australia in order to register. If you choose not to join Engineers Australia, you must complete a Registration Applicant's Declaration in addition to other required forms.

Please select one of the following by clicking "yes":

Are you an engineering technologist?Yes

An Appeals Procedure is available to persons denied registration.
