Areas of Practice

Reference to areas of practice introduces an avenue for practitioners to identify the areas in which they offer engineering services. It also allows the procurers of engineering services to acquaint themselves with the eligibility criteria for registration in those areas. Criteria for the available areas of practice are summarised under NPER Areas, NETR Areas  and NEAR Areas, where links are provided to guideline documents that give more detail.

The Guidelines are essential reading for applicants for registration.

RPsearch is an online search facility that provides contact details of registered practitioners or locates practitioners who can provide engineering services within up to two general or specific areas of practice in a particular location.

Contact details from rpsearch must not be used for unauthorised commercial purposes.

With the support of interested professional associations, the Board has proposed a unified registration system to include Engineers, Technologists and Associates and also Professionals in engineering related fields with Science and Technology backgrounds. The discussion paper titled Towards a Unified Registration System explains this proposal.
