Chartered Engineering Technologist (CEngT) not registered on NETR

If you answered "Yes" to the question "If you are not on NETR, are you a Chartered Engineering Technologist?", this page is for you.

The correct application form, including instructions for applicants, is available below.

Application for Registration on NETR

Chartered Engineering Technologists who achieved Chartered status more than five years ago must satisfy a CPD audit in association with this application. Evidence that you are working independently and competently in your area of practice will not be required if you have a recent satisfactory CPD audit outcome in that area.

You may also wish to register in a specific area of practice. For example, a mechanical engineer may wish to register as a pressure equipment design verifier. In such cases specific evidence of competence must be provided as described in guidelines for the specific area of practice.

There is no automatic waiver for evidence of competence in specific areas of practice by virtue of a satisfactory CPD audit outcome.
In some cases a supplementary application form attached to the guidelines must be completed and returned along with the application for registration on NETR.

The assessment of competency in specific areas of practice often involves an interview. The guidelines explain when this will be the case and will state the fees required.

When you have completed your application and assembled the necessary written evidence, forward your submission, along with the correct fees, to the Registrar at Engineers Australia, 11 National Circuit, BARTON ACT 2600.

Note
Your application for registration in a general area of practice will normally be considered before your application for registration in a specific area of practice.
