If you are applying for registration on the National Engineering Associates Register (NEAR), this page is for you.
NEAR is the main vehicle for the registration of Engineering Associates in Australia.
The requisite qualification for NEAR is a TAFE Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree (2 years), accredited by Engineers Australia or equivalent.
Applicants must also demonstrate that they are practising competently in the area of practice where they are applying for registration. Instructions on how to prepare evidence that demonstrates competencies is on the eChartered web site.

Note:
The same standards and processes are applied whether or not an applicant chooses to join Engineers Australia. Applicants who choose not to join Engineers Australia must submit a completed Registered Applicants Declaration in addition to the Application for Registration.
