Joining Engineers Australia

If you answered yes to the question, "If you are not a member of Engineers Australia, do you wish to join?" this page is for you. The page provides information on how to join Engineers Australia at the same time as applying for registration on NETR.

Registration on the National Engineering Technologists Register (NETR) is available to individuals that have satisfied the Stage 2 Australian Engineering Competency Standards in their area of practice. The application process is designed to add value to individuals' practice skills by providing them an incentive to compile evidence for competency from their experience and to defend that evidence in front of their professional peers.

A Chartered Status Handbook are available online from Engineers Australia to guide your application, as the same process will also confer the status of Chartered Engineering Technologist (CEngT) if it is completed successfully. The handbook explains how to compile your evidence, what will be the fees, where to send your application and who will be involved in the assessment. The handbook also gives the contact details of National Assessors who are prepared to discuss individual cases.
