Julian O’Shea manages Engineers Without Borders’ research programs that link SA engineering students to humanitarian projects in the developing world.

He spent a year overseas investigating how technology can be used to improve people’s lives. One of the highlights was the installation of solar lighting in rural Mexican homes.
