Call for Australia's Brightest Young Minds

BYM Summit 2010 - Call for Australia’s Brightest Young Minds

The Brightest Young Minds (BYM) Foundation is searching for the 100 brightest, most passionate and socially responsible 18-28 year olds in Australia for 2010.

The BYM Foundation will host a six-day Summit, July 4-9, co-hosted by the University of Sydney and Google Australia, to which 100 delegates will be invited to develop and grow as ethical leaders of Australia and beyond. Delegates will also have the opportunity to launch their own social, environmental or humanitarian initiatives, which offer solutions to problems facing society today.

Throughout the conference the delegates will engage with business, not-for-profit and government leaders - each of whom will share their knowledge and experience leading organisations, and doing so in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. Previous speakers include: Tim Costello (World Vision), David Bussau (Opportunity International) and facilitator Hugh Evans (Young Australian of the Year, Founder of Oaktree and the Global Poverty Project). Speakers for the 2010 Summit will be announced on the BYM website in coming weeks.

Delegates have the opportunity to showcase their ethical entrepreneurialism through a one-day consulting challenge to our two major sponsors. We’re able to announce that Tourism Australia is one of the sponsoring bodies - the second a major financial services institution. This is an opportunity to show industry how BYMs, as leaders, can operate with sustainable and ethical business principles and practices in the corporate world.

Experienced mentors from a range of businesses and industries will be at the Summit to assist the delegates in developing their initiatives into feasible profit-for-purpose or well structured charitable ventures.

Through generous corporate and government partnership, the BYM Foundation offers the opportunity to attend the 2010 Summit to Australia’s 100 Brightest Young Minds at no cost. Delegates will have the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership and passion for sustainability to heads of some of Australia’s largest financial, consulting and charitable organisations.

Delegates at BYM‘s 2010 summit will join AIESEC’s INITIATE The Future Summit on July 9th. The day at INITIATE The Future will form a part for the formal BYM Summit programme, and provide all delegates the opportunity to share ideas and launch a range of initiatives which meet challenges facing society today

The BYM 2010 Summit is an opportunity to connect with 99 other people passionate about improving the world, to connect with socially responsible organisations and develop as a future leader.

More information and application details are available at www.bym.com.au Applications close 15th May 2010.
