Christchurch earthquake discussed
Rob Heywood and John Reid, forensic engineers and educators, each with over 35 years of experience as structural engineers, will talk about their experiences as part of Operation Christchurch Assist.
From their deployment at Amberley RAAF Base and living conditions in Christchurch, to their role providing structural engineering support to the search and rescue operation, they will highlight some of the key engineering lessons learned from the tragedy.
A brief overview of the deployment as a whole will be provided by Stephen Smith from USAR, one of the senior management team that lead Operation Christchurch Assist.
