Engineering Success corporate breakfast: Climate change and energy security
Opportunities and challenges for Queensland’s engineers
Tuesday 16 March 2010, 7 am - 9 am
Hilton Hotel, Brisbane
It is predicted that world energy needs could be 50% higher than current levels by 2030. Under this scenario, the deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions called for by leading entities to avert catastrophic climate change will not be achieved without low-emission fossil fuel technologies and alternative energy sources.
One of Queensland Division’s key priorities for this year is to stimulate the state’s energy debate and to position our profession as leaders of future sustainable change in this arena. Our first Engineering Success corporate breakfast of 2010 will explore this topic and you are invited to join us for a dynamic event featuring presentations on various sources of energy, followed by a discussion panel debating energy security issues.
