Humanitarian engineering the focus of 2011 Asean Australian Engineering Congress
This year’s Asean Australian Engineering Congress will focus on promoting humanitarian engineering to both the profession, and general community.
“The congress aims to foster excellence in the practice of ‘Engineering for Sustainability’", said organising chairman Dennis Ong. “This will present an opportunity to consulting engineers, researchers, designers, contractors, local councils, implementing government agencies and suppliers, to discuss sustainable engineering.”
Merv Lindsay, the national president of Engineers Australia, will be a keynote speaker and make an address entitled ‘Humanitarian Engineering in a Community Context’.
The congress has also confirmed keynote speakers from Singapore, Malaysia, India and Germany.
Jointly organised by Engineers Australia’s Malaysia Chapter and Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus, the Congress will be held from July 25 to 27 at the Riverside Majestic Hotel, Kuching, Malaysia.
Early bird registrations are available until the end of April.
