Major international interest in Civil and Structural Engineering Conference in Sydney, 8-11 August

The 5th International Civil Engineering Conference (CECAR5) hosted by Engineers Australia, together with the Australasian Structural Engineering Conference (ASEC 2010), has already drawn more than 250 international delegates to come together with Australian delegates at the Sydney Convention Centre from 8 - 11 August.

The conference has proven to be of great interest for delegates from countries including China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, the Philippines and Taiwan to join with Australian and other professionals from 27 countries.

The conference will include workshops and technical site visits, and will be the platform to discuss the role of the civil and structural engineer as community and business leaders in the 21st century - highlighting the important role engineering professionals contribute to infrastructure.

The conference will be opened by The Hon Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of New South Wales, on the morning of Monday 9 August.
