Make it so: organic waste into briquettes at University of Sydney

new image

At the University of Sydney, a student project is working to find ways to turn organic waste material into briquettes for heating and cooking. This process has the potential to be applied to communities in Nepal and India. Currently this is happening on a small scale, but the project aims to develop a process that would be easier, safer and more efficient.

To highlight the work these students are undertaking, and track their progress, Engineers Australia has donated a hand-held video camera to the group. The students will post their video updates as well as written blogs to the Make it so blog portal.
