Malcolm Kinnaird AC AO is an inspirational engineer
Engineers Australia has joined the community-wide congratulations to South Australian engineer Malcolm Kinnaird for being awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia for service through the development of public policy in defence procurement, infrastructure and energy sector, and to business.
The President of Engineers Australia''s South Australian Division, Doug Gillott, said, "Public recognition of the excellence of the contributions and leadership of Malcolm Kinnaird has grown throughout his career.
"For over fifty years, Malcolm Kinnaird has continued to bring together his engineering, entrepreneurial and leadership skills to deliver outstanding contributions to South Australia and the nation.
"Malcolm shows that the rigour and innovative thought processes acquired through an engineering degree are a sound basis for a wider contribution through boardrooms, and to better decision-making processes in the formulation of government policies. "The further recognition of his achievements through the Companion of the Order of Australia is another benchmark for on-going professional service for all members of Australia''s engineering team," Gillott said.
The Malcolm Kinnaird Engineering Excellence Award is presented each year to South Australia''s most outstanding engineering achievement. He is an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia and was an inaugural appointee to the South Australia Engineers Hall of Fame in 2006. He graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Adelaide in 1958.
