NT Professional Manager of the Year
Civil engineer George Skene, a project manager with Macmahon Constructions, was this year''''s Professional Manager of the Year – Private Sector in the recent Northern Territory division of the Australian Institute of Management Excellence Awards.
Skenes has successfully managed a number of civil projects in the Northern Territory, including the Darwin City Waterfront, Bradshaw Field Training Area (for Department of Defence) and East Arm Port Stage 2. According to the judges he has a flair for community priorities such as indigenous employment, solving major communications issues in remote areas and addressing environmental issues.
