WA engineer a finalist for Young Australian of the Year
As a finalist for the 2007 Young Australian of the Year, engineer Darren Lomman from Western
Australia, has drawn warm congratulations from fellow members of Engineers Australia, the
peak representative body for Australia’s professional engineers.
The National President of Engineers Australia, Rolfe Hartley, said, “This outstanding recognition
of Darren Lomman’s innovative engineering skills and community-minded attitude, that have
restored the opportunity for mobility and enjoyment for the lives of many disabled people, is a
benchmark for our profession and young people throughout Australia.”
