Women in Engineering QLD & Young Engineers Australia QLD combine to make a real difference
Every 90 seconds a woman dies of complications related to pregnancy and childbirth.
On Friday 18th May, Women in Engineering QLD (WIEQ) and Young Engineers Australia QLD (YEAQ) invite you to attend a cocktail fundraiser and silent auction. All proceeds will support Engineers Without Borders in developing birthing kits which will be distributed to those in need throughout Africa and Southeast Asia.

The event will be held on behalf of the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) chapters of Engineers Without Borders (EWB@QUT), GEMS - the Women in Engineering chapter of QUT and FoME – the QUT Medical Engineering group. These groups have jointly launched a new initiative at QUT for students to assist in improving the birthing conditions for many women in developing nations by assembling and donating birthing kits to communities in need.
