Engineers Australia plays an important role in promoting engineering excellence and the contribution engineering makes to the community. Our award programs seek to identify, recognise and reward outstanding achievement, eminence in the practice of engineering, and conspicuous service to the profession.
People in Engineering
The Northern Division Engineering Excellence Awards are the highlight of the Engineering professional calendar, designed to inspire and encourage engineers to achieve world's best practice through teamwork, innovation, and appropriate technical excellence, and to recognise those engineers responsible.
Engineers may self nominate for these awards, or can be nominated by an employer, peer or member of the community.
Nominees are asked to address the 5 National Criteria which demonstrate their service to the profession, innovation and the community
- Engineering competence
- Demonstrated communication and leadership skills (including leadership of teams)
- Positive/notable outcomes from their performance
- Creativity/innovation
- Community service to industry, the profession and/or society
Winners of the Northern Division Individual Awards go on to the National Engineering Excellence Awards.
Before nominating, please read the 2012 People in Engineering Nomination Guide, the National Criteria Guide and Terms & Conditions to ensure that the nominee fulfills all necessary criteria. Only online nominations will be accepted.

Engineering Excellence Awards
Companies and Individuals are invited to submit a project into the Northern Division Engineering Excellence Awards 2012.
Please ensure you have read the 2012 Engineering Excellence Awards Project Guide before you start your submission. Stage 1 must be completed online - the online form cannot be saved and must be completed in one session. Multiple entries are not permitted. If you have more than 1 entry, please submit a new payment & form for each project entry.
Before you start, please ensure you have the following ready:
- Credit Card for payment
- Name of the project
- Name of contact person(s) and details of address, phone, fax and e-mail
- Full name of the Company(s) or Individual(s) who are making the entry and would be eligible to receive an Award
- Full name of the Company(s) or Individual(s) who will recieve verbal acknowledgement (ONLY) during the awards ceremony
