ACT engineering consultancy committed to Chartered pathway Thursday, 20 October 2016

Turner-based renewable energy engineering firm, ITP Renewables, recently signed on as an Engineers Australia Professional Development Program (PDP) partner to support their staff members in their journey to becoming Chartered.

Senior Engineer at ITP Renewables Nic Jacobson MIEAust said that partnering with Engineers Australia to provide a pathway to Chartered status is important because staff development is critical to the success of the firm.

“ITP Renewables is committed to the professional development of our staff, and ITP has partnered with Engineers Australia's Professional Development Program to provide a structured and supported pathway to achieving Chartered status, in parallel with the development opportunities provided through the work we undertake,” Mr Jacobson said.

“ITP values the support provided to staff through the PDP and the peer recognition of our engineers as they become Chartered.

“Staff development is key to the success of ITP Renewables.”

Engineers Australia Division Manager Keely Quinn welcomes the innovative renewable energy firm on board as a PDP partner and said that Engineers Australia looks forward to supporting the engineers at ITP Renewables through the Chartered process to see both the individuals and the organisation continue to thrive into the future.

“It is great to see an organisation value Chartered status and the career progression of their engineers,” Ms Quinn said.

“Becoming a Chartered engineer confirms an engineer’s commitment to quality and professionalism, acknowledging a competence and commitment to lifelong learning that will benefit the profession and the broader community.”

ITP Renewables is a leading renewable energy consulting and project management firm, working with their clients at a local level to provide a unique combination of renewable energy engineers, specialist strategic advisors and experts in economics, financial analysis and policy.

The engineering consultancy sees the Chartered status of their engineers as a critical assurance for their clients as its business continues to develop.

Mr Jacobson said that having a structured pathway for the development of the consultancy’s engineers also helps to ensure that quality staff are recruited and retained.

“We recognise that on-going professional development is important to the attraction and long-term satisfaction of staff,” he said.
