Chartered Engineers now fast-tracked to become licensed in Qatar Tuesday, 25 October 2016

Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality and Environment has officially recognised the status of Engineers Australia’s Chartered members, exempting them from assessment requirements to become registered as a professional engineer locally.

Over the past twelve months, EA’s Qatar Chapter committee has been working with the Ministry to align our credentials. Chartered members of Engineers Australia can now apply for registration without having to sit for the previously-required exam.

Such acknowledgement from the Qatari Government is held by only a handful of engineering institutions around the world and Engineers Australia is honoured to be part of this select group.

EA’s Qatar Chapter is holding regular workshops to assist members in becoming Chartered. The workshops are interactive and informal, with opportunities for tailored support and networking. For upcoming workshops, please visit www.engineersaustralia.org.au/qatar.

The committee will also be developing a mentoring program to assist Chartered candidates in the near future. If you would like to volunteer to become a mentor, please contact Engineers Australia Qatar on [email protected]
