Electrical Performance & Reliability Improvement Technical Presentation
Mackay Committee was host to Warner Priest and Charl Kleinhans from Siemens Australia. This was a very high quality training session, brining the attendees up to four hours of CPD points.

Racecourse Mill Co-Generation Tour
The inspection was a huge success with close to 50 registrations. Considering the large number of attendees the tour took place in four groups to make it easier for the guides to explain the details of design and challenges of minimum interruption to the daily operation during the design and construction of the new 80 Bar Boiler and Power Station.

International Women's Day Breakfast
This was the first WIE event in 2013, and was well received by members as well as non-members.
Dr. Fae Martin - the guest speaker- spoke about her professional life and how she became one of the most successful female engineers in the region, if not in the country.
Her advise to all women in engineering was, not to turn down an opportunity because it has been offered to you as a women, since it will be your chance to show how incredible you are as an engineer.

Hay Point Coal Terminal HPX3 Site Inspection
The HPX3 project will increase capacity at the Terminal to around 55 mtpa and involves:
• Offshore dredging to construct a new berth pocket (these works are now complete);
• Replacement of existing trestle conveyors and surge bins;
• Construction of overland conveyors to transfer coal from the stockpiles to the jetty; and
• Construction of a shiploader on the new third berth.
