Migration Skills Assessment

Engineers Australia is the designated authority to assess professional qualifications in engineering for the purposes of skilled migration to Australia.

The Australian Government’s General Skilled Migration Programme

 Do not proceed if you:

  • are an Australian permanent resident or citizen (refer to Stage 1 Competency Assessment);

  • have engineering technician or trade qualifications (for contact details of the relevant assessing authority visit www.immi.gov.au).

 If you require an engineering skills assessment to make an application to migrate to Australia, please do the following:

  1. read the Migration Skills Assessment Booklet
  2. download the relevant application form
  3. Prepare and submit your application

For further information about Australian Skills Recognition, visit the Australian Skills Recognition Information (ASRI) website.  If you have any questions regarding application to this office, please e-mail the Migration Skills Assessment Team.

Current Assessment Turnaround Time

Please note the assessment of CDR submissions may take around 12 weeks from the date of receipt due to continuing high numbers of applications. Assessment of accredited Australian and Accord qualifications may take up to 3 weeks (Both these times are predicated on satisfactory submissions). Please do NOT contact Engineers Australia within these time frames as delays will be caused to the processing time for all applications.

This advice supersedes that given on page 25 of the MSA Booklet for the foreseeable future.
