Engineers Australia is the largest and most diverse engineering association in Australia, with approximately 90,000 members nationally and over 6,000 in South Australia. We undertake a range of vital programs to support the engineering profession.

President Gerry is a Civil Engineer and a Director of Tonkin Consulting. His work experience has focussed on the delivery of water and wastewater solutions to government and private clients within South Australia. Gerry is married with five beautiful sons and has an active interest in athletics and most other sports. Gerry is also the Civil College Board Representative from South Australia. |

Dr David Cruickshanks-Boyd FIEAust EngExecImmediate Past President and National Congress Representative David is the Regional Director for Parsons Brinckerhoff in South Australia. His special area of interest is Engineering Leadership. He is passionate about the development of an organisational culture which delivers long term strategic benefits to PB’s clients, and enables professional staff to be the best they can be. Since 2002 he has led PB through an aggressive growth phase to the point where the firm now delivers many of the State’s most significant infrastructure projects. |

John Olson RFD FIEAust CPEng EngExec FAICDDeputy President John Olson has been actively involved on various Engineers Australia committees since 2000 including the SA Quality Panel, National Committee for Quality in Engineering, SA Management in Engineering Branch, SA Division Committee (2003, 2009 and 2010) and the Centre for Engineering Leadership and Management SA Committee. He is currently Chair of the Engineering Leadership Conference 2012 Organising Committee. |

Greg Walters FIEAust CPEng EngExecCommittee Member and National Councillor 2012/2013 Greg Walters is the State Manager SA and a Principal at SKM. Within Engineers Australia he is the immediate past President of Tasmanian Division and has held a variety of other roles over the past 19 years including President Canberra Division, Deputy President SA Division and National President ASDE. He has been elected to National Council for 2012-13. |

Lachlan Kinnear MIEAust CPEngCommittee Member Lachlan is a civil engineer with health science qualifications working in the state government Olympic Dam Task Force, for the facilitation of the proposed BHP Billiton mining expansion, the legislative arrangements and maximisation of economic benefit to the state. His career has spanned water, commercial construction, health infrastructure, clinical health services in projects, procurement, and services and organisational development in the private and government sectors both in Canada and Australia. He believes engineers can influence the development of the sustainable structure for our society. Lachlan has an active interest in road cycling and historic motorsports. |

Steve Ludlam FIEAust CPEngCommittee Member Steve is the Managing Director and Chief Executive of ASC - Australia's largest specialised defence shipbuilding organisation. He has significant international experience, spending 34 years with Rolls Royce in key positions throughout Europe. Steve is also a senior stakeholder in a number of UK Ministry of Defence strategic change programs and has strong relationships the Defence Materiel Organisation, with the Ministry of Defence, and major industry, not only in Australia and the United Kingdom but also in Europe and the United States. |

Mark Brownley FIEAust CPEng EngExecCommittee Member Mark is a chemical engineer leading the delivery of the capital upgrade of the electricity distribution system in SA as General Manager Field Services with ETSA Utilities. His career is focused on technical service delivery, complex asset assignments and systems development with deep experience in aviation and infrastructure services. His professional interests are promoting engineering as a career of choice, raising the profile and voice of professional engineers and connecting industry. |

SQNLDR Fernando Gonzalez MIEAust CPEngCommittee Member Fernando has served in the RAAF since 1983 in the Avionics, Technical Airworthiness and Electronic Warfare fields and holds a BEngHons and MSc in EW. He has served as JEWOSU's Senior Design Engineer and now manages aircraft modification and data telemetry associated with flight testing. He is President of Adelaide's Spanish Radio, Director of the AOC, commands 613SQN AAFC and the Clipsal 500 and Avalon Air Show RAAF public relations teams. Fernando spends any remaining free time mentoring young people in maths, science, leadership and the engineering profession. |

Steve Brown MIEAust CPEngCommittee Member Steve holds the position of General Manager – Engineering for Centrex Metals Ltd. He is an electrical engineer with approx 30 years experience in the iron ore, steel, water, wine and construction industries. Previous roles include Manager Engineering for all capital works at Onesteel Whyalla and Construction Manager for Project Magnet iron ore development for Onesteel. |

Michelle Shi-Verdaasdonk MIEAustCommittee Member Trained as an Aeronautical engineer, Michelle has worked in a diverse range of manufacturing industries, such as automotive, food and household appliances. Currently working at Electrolux, Australasia’s leading household appliances company, Michelle is responsible in managing the quality continuous improvement agenda in the Asia Pacific Region. Michelle has also been involved with Engineers Australia since 2006. She is the current National Chair of Women in Engineering, as well as a Congress member. |

Dr Cris Birzer MIEAustCommittee Member Dr Cristian Birzer is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Mechanical Engineering and the Centre for Energy Technology at the University of Adelaide. Over the last 10 years Cris has served on numerous Engineers Australia committees including Division Committee, YEA-SA Committee and Mechanical Branch Committee. He has also served in the Australia Army Reserves for over 15 years with deployments to East Timor and the Solomon Islands. |

Mark Jones MIEAustCommittee Member Mark Jones is the Managing Director of civil infrastructure construction company Leed Engineering and Construction Pty Ltd. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at University of South Australia and now has 20 years experience in the civil construction industry. |

Anh Tran GradIEAustCommittee Member Anh Tran is a chemical engineer completing her PhD at the University of Queensland. She passionately believes that engineering plays a vital role in addressing global challenges from poverty to climate change. She volunteers with Engineers Without Borders SA Chapter, coordinating a number of engineering and education projects with local indigenous communities. |

Caroline Argent - Executive DirectorCaroline has been with Engineers Australia since 2001 and became Executive Director in 2009. Caroline is the prime staff point of contact for Division office bearers, and manages Division staff, assets and finance in accordance with the Chief Executive’s delegations. Caroline is responsible for the overall management of the South Australia Division. Caroline is a keen badminton player, often making the journey from her hills home to have a hit. |

Sarah Carey - Deputy DirectorSarah has been with Engineers Australia for almost 10 years and was in a variety of roles prior to becoming Deputy Director in 2009. Sarah’s role includes financial management, governance, human resources and sponsorship management. Sarah is passionate about cars and motorsport and is the office “rev head”. |

Nathan Jones - Member Relationship CoordinatorNathan joined the South Australia Division as receptionist in January 2008 and was promoted to Member Relationship Coordinator in July 2010. His duties include general membership enquiries, graphic design, Engineering South Australia newsletter, maintaining the Division website, organising Professional Interviews for Chartered Status and compiling the yearly Undergraduate and Graduate Handbook. Nathan is a geek at heart with a keen interest in anything related to Information Technology. |

Ashlea Klingberg - Member Programs CoordinatorAshlea has been with Engineers Australia since August 2011 and is responsible for coordinating all the South Australian groups technical programs. Other responsibilities include managing the division diary and room bookings. Ashlea enjoys travel, always looking forward to the next getaway whether its 2 days in the country or 3 weeks in Bali.

Sharryn Fensom - Events CoordinatorSharryn joined Engineers Australia as the Events Coordinator in March 2011. Sharryn's role includes assisting with the organisation of the Sir Eric Neal Address, Engineering Week, Engineering Excellence Awards and other major Division events. Sharryn enjoys spending her spare time with her close friends and having a good laugh. |

Jason Thornhill- Industry Relationship ManagerJason recently relocated to Adelaide from England where he worked for a Chamber of Commerce. Jason is responsible for industry liaison management and Professional Development Programs in South Australia. Jason says he is “New to Adelaide and loving the lifestyle; people and weather. Can't wait until its 40 degrees; bring it on!!” |

Maurice Berry - National AssessorMaurice recently joined Engineers Australia following a brief period of retirement and is one of two assessors in the Division. Maurice is responsible for assessing Career Episode Reports (CER) and Engineering Practice Reports (EPR), delivering CER writing Workshops and managing the Professional Interview Process. Maurice enjoys golf, outdoor activities and trying to keep up with 8 grandkids (another on the way). |

Eric Hobson - National Manager ArticulationEric has been with Engineers Australia for 10 years. Eric manages the articulation pathways for Affiliates, Engineering Officers and Engineering Technologists. When Eric isn’t in the office he is on the golf course or spending time with his grandchildren. |
