Campus Coordinators

2012 Campus Coordinators

Tamara White StudIEAust

Campus Coordinator - University of Adelaide

Tamara is undertaking a double degree in Chemical Engineering and Earth Sciences. She has been an active member of various committees within and outside of the University of Adelaide community throughout her time at the university. She has completed her Earth Sciences degree and is now continuing with Chemical Engineering.

After spending a year living in England, following the completion of the Earth Sciences degree, Tamara has returned to the University of Adelaide and is keen to get started with her new role as Campus Coordinator, ensuring that there is strong communication and involvement between the students, lecturers and Engineers Australia. Networking nights, mock interviews and meeting with current graduates are hopefully just a few of the exciting events that will be taking place in 2012. It is important for the different areas of engineering to communicate with each other so not only will there be specific nights for the different disciplines but events that encourage this cross-communication.

Please feel free to contact Tamara with any questions or ideas you might have. She will take everything on board and looks forward to meeting everyone over the course of the year. Lets make 2012 a year to remember!

Sam Lowe StudIEAust

Campus Coordinator - University of Adelaide

This is Sam's second year on the Young Engineers Australia - South Australia (YEA-SA) Committee, and his first as Campus Coordinator. Sam is currently studying a double degree of a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science majoring in physics at the University of Adelaide. His major areas of interest are aeronautics & astronautics, renewable energy research, humanitarian engineering, and engineering education. Sam has a strong history of student leadership, being previously awarded an Order of Australia Association Medal for Student Citizenship.

Sam's role as Campus Coordinator will see him trying to utilise the services of Engineers Australia (EA) to maximise the benefit received by its student members. Sam is looking forward to working hard to create a renewed and invogorated EA presence on campus this year, with more site tours, networking nights, and on-campus events to get students involved in their engineering industry.

Oliver Barnett StudIEAust

Campus Coordinator - University of South Australia

Oliver is currently in his final year of studying towards a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of South Australia. His passion for buildings and architecture has led him to specialise in Structural Engineering in his final year and he plans to work in this area after graduation.

During his time at university Oliver has been involved with UniLife events, promoted civil engineering to future students at UniSA’s open day and worked on a university run construction project in northern South Australia. The project provides students with hands on construction experience by building future housing for young Aboriginal men.

In his role as Campus Coordinator Oliver plans to get students more involved in engineering outside of university with opportunities to network with recent graduates, attend site tours and keep up to date with industry news.
