Technical Societies provide learned society functions and continuing professional development for Society and Engineers Australia members generally and are to be supported and assisted in these activities at National and Divisional levels.
Technical Societies of Engineers Australia vary widely in their size, modus operandi and aims and objectives, they range from highly specialized groups having the minimum size (30 persons) centred on a city with a specialized industry or a Technical Society with hundreds of members spanning the nation and having chapters in many cities. The Engineers Australia Technical Society system aims to cater for the learned Technical Society needs of the members of the whole engineering team.
Engineering qualifications are not a pre requisite for membership to a Technical Society.
